OverviewThis is the fortieth bilingual haiku collection originally written by this author, and introduces the Decorah North bald eagles who are less known than their neighbors, the world-famous Decorah eagles. Their territory is located a little north of the Decorah eagles in the northeastern enclave of Decorah, Iowa; hence they are referred to as the Decorah North eagles. Since a bald eagle couple settled in the Decorah North Valley in 2009, many things-including dramatic and tragic events-have happened to the bald eagles there and their eaglets. This haiku anthology was written in order to have a comprehensive and as accurate a record as possible of the Decorah North eagles, to the knowledge of this author, for future birders and wildlife observers in general and bald eagle enthusiasts in particular. This haiku collection introduces 90 original haikus for four seasons, plus 'new year' that counts as a small season in the Japanese calendar.
