Overview

It is clear that the author is expressing a deep belief in learning, appreciating, and knowing how to use the skills of the mountain men of the Old West. McCowan has adopted the knowledge and understanding of the mountain man way of life. In fact he has become a mountain man himself. McCowan's The Guardian in the Wilderness is one of those terrific books you can't put down. He's a great storyteller.

EARLY REVIEWSTerse and authentic (The author does his homework). This story pulls you in and doesn't let go!Thanks, Randy McCowan for a fascinating read.Doris ConsoleIn the beginning my intention was to proof a few chapters at a time. However regardless of intentions, I became so intrigued with the story that I was unable to put it down. I was so engrossed with the characters and their journey that I forgot that my task was to proof. I believe you, the reader, will also become part of the story. Enjoy the journey.Princess C.
