An engineering graduate of UCD, he worked at Shell International on oil and gas fields in the Netherlands and subsequently focused on new technology and sustainable development. He left Shell to do an MBA at Harvard and write his first book, Driving the Tiger, Irish Enterprise Spirit. He then joined McKinsey and Company to lead projects as diverse as not-for-profit healthcare, satellite manufacturing and energy in Europe, Africa and America. Founder CEO of Alternative Energy Resources Limited (AER), he has grown the company successfully since 2006. John's passions are family, friends, sport and arts.
