Her research focuses on second language acquisition, online teaching, Baroque literature, and fairytales. She is the Director of the Italian Language Program at Rutgers University, USA, where she is also Director of the Study Abroad Program. She is the founder and Chief Editor of Language Teaching and Technology, and is the recipient of an entrepreneurial grant to develop a professional development workshop entirely online for Italian teachers. She also won the prestigious Ernest E. McMahon Class of 1930 Award from Rutgers University for the academic year 2019-2020. Her publications include “How to Foster Equality in The Language Classroom” in the volume Rhetoric and Sociolinguistics in Times of Global Crisis.
