OverviewGrammatical gender is a particular form of noun class system in which their division forms an agreement system with other features of the language, such as adjectives, verbs, articles or pronouns. It is used in about a quarter of the languages in the world. Most nouns in these languages inherently carry one value of the grammatical category called gender.
