Reviews

Like a skilled surgeon, Clay Werner has carefully peeled away all the layers of our spiritual brokenness to get to the heart of the matter. . . . This is a must-read book for anyone looking to discover more gospel joy in the midst of life's brokenness. --Julius J. Kim, Dean of Students and Professor of Practical Theology, Westminster Seminary California Only in the gospel could the words 'deep joy' and 'brokenness' be brought together. . . . A stimulating and thoroughly delightful read. --Fred G. Zaspel, author of Warfield on the Christian Life: Living in Light of the Gospel Clay Werner shows that what King David penned three millennia ago has tremendous explanatory power for our own experiences today. Centered around the finished work of Christ on our behalf, Werner unpacks this remarkable passage of Scripture and shows us the confidence we can have to take off the masks we wear to achieve our horizontal goals, and instead embrace true repentance. --Andrew Compton, Assistant Professor of Old Testament Studies, Mid-America Reformed Seminary
