OverviewJoe Keillor is broken. He's lost his daughter, his wife, his Jewish faith, and his way. Being alone wasn't part of the plan. Or was it? Against his prideful inclinations, Joe tries to make sense of his life. During his struggle, he attends a Messianic synagogue and listens to the messages of Rabbi Michael Vowell about the applications of the Torah. He comes to realize that the truths of God apply to him and to everyone, no matter what religious background. Regardless of what sins he's committed in the past, God offers a lifeline. Will Joe be broken enough to accept it? And then change? God said What? illustrates biblical teachings about honor, truth, purity, rest, headship, and generosity of heart and spirit. But it's the application of these truths that is the final, pivotal lesson lighting the way back to God and His blessings. About the authors: Michael Vowell serves as the Senior Rabbi at Congregation Beth Messiah in Houston, Texas. He holds a Master of Theology in Hebrew Bible and Semitic Languages from Dallas Theological Seminary. He received his B.A. in Jewish Studies from Moody Bible Institute and is the recipient of the Merrill F. Unger Award, the Nathan Meier Award, and others. Linda Audrey Kantor is an author, teacher, and world traveler. A life-long student of history, she is the author of The Enigma Journal and Emil's Story: Memoir of a WWII Bomber Pilot, available on Amazon. To enhance the teachings of Rabbi Vowell, she created Joe Keillor and his dysfunctional family to show how God's word applies--more than ever--to the problems and challenges of modern life. God said What? speaks to Christians, Messianic Jews, Jews, and to all who realize that an impetuous conscience is an insufficient guide through the storms of life, but that obedience to God's will, word, and way points toward the blessings that He has always intended for each one of us.
