She has worked with children for as long as she can remember but truly discovered it to be her passion and life's calling seven years ago. A Penn State alumna, Rose worked part-time as a group leader with 3rd and 4th grade students at an after-school program. After seeing her impact with the brilliant scholars from BROOKLYN, Rose pursued a Master of Social Work degree (with a clinical focus on children and families) at CUNY's Hunter College. As the final project of her master program, Rose wrote a compelling children's story in which she based characters on her experiences as a child. It was important for her to create resources to aid parents and teachers in navigating conversations surrounding gender expression, especially with a younger demographic. Currently, Ali works with young adult scholars supporting them through their college journey focusing on academics, social-emotional growth, and mental health. Ali still lives in New York City.
