Author Yvette Cook has a bachelor's degree in Psychology and has had a passion for writing since she was little with her own tummy butterflies for the first day of school. As a stay-at-home mom of three she wanted to create her own story for her children about how to overcome their nervousness for the first day of school. Inspired by her favorite animal the giraffe and her own children's anxiety about starting school, she has come up with a story that helps open discussion for overcoming childhood worry and anxiety. Illustrator Erica Montez found her creativity and artistic abilities in early childhood and has created various forms of art from sketches to the pictures used in this book. She has many talents, and her work show cases her passion and dedication to the art community. As a stay-at-home mom of two, she uses her talents to illustrate what anxiety can look like on the outside and how to help settle those butterflies we feel in our tummy for her own children.
