OverviewThe fruitful interaction between geometry and theoretical physics, which led, for example, to the creation of the theory of general relativity, is explored in this volume. It is based on lectures given at a meeting at the Physics Center of the German Physical Society in Bad Honnef. The volume starts with a mathematical introduction to the relevant differential geometric methods. The topics of the main part range from fermions in a gravitational field to a new approach to space-time physics, anomalies in quantum field theory, and finally a concluding article on Wolfgang Pauli's ideas on the foundations of physics. The book is written at a level that makes it accessible to students with an undergraduate education in physics or mathematics. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Joachim Debrus , Allen C. Hirshfeld , A.C.
