Lucia Albino Gilbert, PhD, is currently Professor of Psychology at Santa Clara University in California. Most recently, she served as the University's Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Prior to that, she was Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, Professor of Educational Psychology, and Frank C. Erwin, Jr. Centennial Honors Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. While there, she also directed the Center for Women's and Gender Studies. She has an extensive record of scholarship and is the recipient of awards for teaching, mentorship, and research excellence. Her areas of teaching include gender in counseling and psychotherapy, research methods, and the psychology of women and gender. Murray Scher holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. He was Professor of Psychology at Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN. He has been in private practice for more than four decades. He is a past President and Fellow of the American Academy of Psychotherapists as well as a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. He is extensively published and has presented widely. His particular interests are gender issues in psychotherapy, especially the intersection of male gender roles and psychotherapy. He is also interested in the person of the psychotherapist and how that affects psychotherapy.
