Author Information

Frances C. Sutherland is a clinical developmental psychologist who specializes in the adjustment problems associated with ADHD, learning disabilities and related mental health issues. Working with children, adolescents, adults and their families, Dr. Sutherland has more than 25 years of experience in private practice. She has developed the Integrated Model of ADHD Management and has given presentations on the topic of ADHD to professionals, parents and general audiences. In the past six years, her letters to the New York Times on the subject of ADHD have been published in the NYT Letters section and in the Thread, the Letters section of the NYT Sunday Magazine. In late 2012, one of her letters was the basis for an editorial feature article, The Sunday Dialogue. Bob Perkins is a free lance illustrator who specializes in creating cartoons. In addition to his work with Dr. Sutherland, he is also developing a comic book, The Misfits, which tracks the adventures of young people with neuro-developmental delays who are grappling with the life's myriad challenges.
