Author Information

"R.C. Williams, JD (""Cliff"") first began advising employers with workplace issues over a decade ago. Since then, he has held many leadership roles. Among them, he has headed performance management, examinations and recruitment, policy development, and a director level position in education services. Cliff has also provided HR leadership in the area of administrative hearings. His experience includes preparation and presentation of thousands of hearings involving employee separations, suspensions, discrimination cl-aims, promotional appeals, and performance evaluations. While serving as a member of the policy review committee, Cliff was tasked with addressing a substantial number of policy issues for an organization employing over 6,500 staff. In this capacity, he worked with executive management and employment counsel to develop countless policies and procedures, including issues such as attendance, drugs, social media, investigations, and personal appearance. Cliff is a graduate of Trinity School of Law and an avid chess player. Michael Trust, MPA, SPHR-CA, SHRM-SCP, is an active senior-level manager. At the most fundamental level, Michael brings more than twenty years of human resources experience and extensive coaching experience to the organizations for which he has worked. Michael has worked in both the private and public sectors in a wide variety of industries and employee populations, with direct employee population sizes of 30 to 2,000, and in organizations of 30 to over 25,000 employees. In addition, he has three years of healthcare clinical operations management, and six years of real estate experience during which he owned his own real estate brokerage firm. In his career thus far, he has informally and formally coached more than 250 people, has reviewed some 300,000 resumes, and interviewed more than 10,000 people. As would be the case for any HR pro, he has had the unfortunate task of firing many people as well. His knowledge is valued as an expert witness in human resources cases before the Los Angeles Superior Court, on many professional forums, and he is an active member of several coaching and Human Resources management professional organizations. He is also a California-certified mediator. Michael's MPA was earned at the University of Southern California and his baccalaureate degree was earned at the California State University in Long Beach, CA."
