This special re-print edition of C.O. Drayton's book Farmers Must Be Co-operators is a guide to the establishment of organized co-operatives among farmers and ranchers. An agricultural cooperative, also known as a farmers' co-op, is a scenario where farmers pool their resources in certain areas of activity. Agricultural cooperatives are usually distinguished between 'agricultural service cooperatives', which provide various services to their individually farming members, and 'agricultural production cooperatives', where production resources (land, machinery) are pooled and members farm jointly. Written in 1914, this classic text written by one of the founders of the farmer's co-operative movement provides insight into the subject of farmer's co-operatives and makes a strong argument for their establishment.
