Saint Paul, Minnesota, is a quiet and comfortable city rich with history. Little known are the days when prostitution was a thriving business hidden in storefront saunas and health clubs. For decades, madams and business owners made hundreds of thousands of dollars selling sex. But as the twenty-first century drew near, Saint Paul officials were desperate to shut down the trade and rid its city of the stigma surrounding the sex-for-money industry. Special investigation units were formed, sting operations commenced, and lawsuits were filed. Caught in the crosshairs of a city determined to stop her, Linda May Spencer fought for twenty years against an institution set on taking her down. Allison Mann is an author, publisher and paralegal. After graduating from Winona State University in 2001, Allison began a nearly twenty-year career as a paralegal in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. After coauthoring her first book, The Girls Are Gone, Allison found her way to the publishing world. In 2020, Allison cofounded and is the CEO of Hadleigh House Publishing where she developed the Hadleigh House Unpacked imprint. Allison continues to reside in the Twin Cities with her family, enjoying life as a boy mom and all that comes along with it. When she's not writing, Allison can be found getting lost in a bookstore or wandering the halls of a courthouse. Ann Marie Gideon, an Earphones Award-winning narrator, is a professional actress based in Atlanta. She received a BFA in theater performance from the University of Memphis and trained at the Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Italy. Throughout her college career, she gained professional experience by performing at Playhouse on the Square. Soon after, she toured across the country with the National Players and then landed in Atlanta, Georgia, with Georgia Shakespeare. She is now expanding her career into voice-over work, film, and television.
