OverviewGerman photographer Hildegard Theodora Monssen (b.1948) creates sensual flower portraits that are both expressive and mysterious. She captures her motifs with natural light in extreme close-ups and reveals the personality of wilting flowers in all their vulnerability. Her images make visible the beauty of transience and temporality. ""Her balanced works of art function as a reflective memento mori."" --Rick Vercauteren, Director of the Museum van Bommel-Van Dam, Venlo, NL from 2005 - 2019.
