Overview

As law enforcement officer and game manager for the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission, Lt. Tom Shirley was the law in one of the last true frontiers in the nation?the Florida Everglades. Tom Shirley (1930–2014) served in law enforcement for the Everglades Division of the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission for 30 years. He was an award-winning advocate for the restoration of the Everglades’ original ecosystem.
