OverviewDeflazacort is an oxazoline derivative of prednisolone with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activity. It is not official in any pharmacopoeias hence there is no official method for estimation of Deflazacort. The literature survey reveals HPLC and LC/MS methods for Deflazacort determination in pharmaceutical formulations as well as in biological samples like serum and urine. But the literature survey does not reveal any stability indicating HPLC, HPTLC and spectrophotometric method of Deflazacort in pharmaceutical dosage form. So it was thought of interest to develop and validate simple, accurate, precise spectroscopic and chromatographic methods for estimation of this drug in pharmaceutical solid dosage form.
