Author Information

The author, Mary Saavedra, was born in the jungles of Peru, province of Loreto. She left to Manaus (Brazil) right after she got married at 27. After a few years, she and her husband moved to the United States. She received her bachelor degree in business Administration, and years later, her Master in Education and Counseling from the same university, San Diego State University (SDSU) in 2003. Her only daughter is now sixteen. Mari remarried, and she resides now in Carlsbad, California, from where she travels internationally. Coming from a different place, such as the Peruvian Amazon, and having experienced a traumatic childhood, it took her some energy and time to be able to shake off the mental and emotional state in which she had been living, to establish herself in the abundance and goodness that she really is (as we all are, she adds). When Mari spread her wings, she finally knew what it was like to live a full and authentic life. She knows how to make the best of the two cultures she embraces as a Latina living in the United States, which makes her life complex and rich. Some of her positive childhood experiences of swimming in the Amazon River and playing wit iguanas in the jungle, being taken care of by a curandero (witch doctor), and experiencing much of the rhythm and culture that is Peru, has enriched her tremendously. By the same token, she appreciates the opportunities that the United States offers in terms of education and a larger degree of freedom, as well as the beauty and lifestyle of Southern California. I intuitively know that Mari's inner drive pushed her to write this book to give a helping hand to others by bringing out to light things that happen more often than we imagine, but not discussed. Her intention is to raise the level of awareness in our society, families and in the world in general. She outlines some steps to prevent and to raise above these things. This book, which she relates in a clear, simple and personal way, will open your eyes as well as help you to clarify your life's intentions, and elevate you to another dimension in every way. I am proud to write this biography about Mari because her transformation is obvious, and now she lives a free, complete, prosperous and happy life. Don't miss out what could change your life.
