"""This book deals with the development of the various forms of renewable energy resources such as active and passive solar energy systems, photovoltaic modules, wind and ocean energy systems, and biomass. Thus, the aim of the book is to present an overview of progress made towards energy sustainability addressing concerns regarding carbon emission and clean energy resources. Keeping this in mind, the book has chapters on all major energy sources which are being utilized at present, along with those having potential prospects for future. The book (1) provides up-to-date status reviews of different energy resources and technologies, (2) emphasizes the concept of energy security and sustainability, (3) reviews future energy options and directions for energy security and sustainability, and (4) the geopolitics of energy. The editors of the book have achieved the goals by assembling a collection of chapters in which the numerous ways of energy development in various countries have been approached to meet energy needs without causing further damage to the environment. The editors are to be commended for their efforts and the book will be a worthy addition to the libraries and bookshelves of concerned scientist wand engineers who have an interest in alternate sources of energy. The book will also be very useful as an alternate energy guide for students, energy managers, and policy makers."" —Journal of Energy Sources Part A, Dr James Speight"
