OverviewThe following case report proposes to characterize the scope and challenges presented by the implementation of a proposal for occupational participation with young offenders, designed by a pilot program in the Area of Education and Youth Occupation in the CIP-CRC of Limache, administered directly by the former National Service for Minors (SENAME) in Chile. The objective of this exercise is to systematize the proposal in order to understand and propose a contribution to the improvement of practices and methodologies, thus contributing to the enrichment of theory, public policy, the professional development of the teams and the process of construction of life projects of each incarcerated youth.Life experiences, previous context, skills, interests and values are seen as fundamental in the relationship between participation and the experience of deprivation of liberty as a young person and, therefore, a process of meaningful experimentation through the MOHO's levels of occupational participation can facilitate motivation and the acquisition of meaningful roles, as opposed to the criminal role.
