Overview

Describe the types of conflict that seem to exist within the Bluebirds organization. What are the causes? Is the conflict functional, dysfunctional or both? explain.Dysfunctional conflict is different to functional conflict as below: Dysfunctional conflict is conflict that interferes with performance to organizational goals and objectives, such as doubting about the organization's future performance in the minds of shareholders; conflict can cause people to exercise their own individual power and engage in political behaviour directed toward achieving their own goals; conflict can have negative effects on interpersonal relationships, so it needs to take time and resources and emotional energy to deal with conflict, both on an interpersonal and an organizational level.Functional conflict is beneficial to organizational goals and objectives . Any organizations without functional conflict frequency lack the energy and ideas to create effective innovation. Conflict can have a number of functional consequences for organizations, such as facilitation of change, improved problem solving or decision making, enhanced morale within a group, more ability in communication and productivity and creativity and stimulation. I felt this Bluebirds baseball team organization had only dysfunctional conflict, such asTrudy baseball team owner and Marty, baseball team manager who had negative effects on interpersonal relationship. Trudy needed to take time and resources and emotional energy to deal with Marty's individual conflict both on an interpersonal level. For example, in fact, Marty encouraged Russ and Mickey to leave Trudy's baseball team, but Marty refused to follow Trudy's requirement to apologize to them and persuaded them to stay. It would cause this baseball team other players turnover numbers to be increased due to these two the best baseball players leaving influence and Trudy would lose these two the best baseball performance players finally
