Chapter 13KBTZ television organizationKBTZ was a large television station in United States. It was one of the largest revenue producers in its entertainment market and employed more than 180 staffs and it was as the local televisionleader in the use of sophisticated electronic equipment.The station's physical plant was planned to accommodate the new equipment and to boost its image at the leader in the entertainment market. However, its organization development caused much problems to need to solve. On the one hand, due to external pressure to cause organization change, such as entertainment market competition needed to have high technological new equipments to purchase to provide to different departments to use, e.g. cameras, films etc equipment. Hence, different department staffs needed to learn how touse these equipments to raise productive performance quality. On the other hand, due to internal pressure to cause organizational change, such as reducing aspiration performance factor was caused poorly in KNTZ organization, which meant gaps was occurred between what an individual, unit or organization wanted to achieve and what it was actually achieving in KTZ organization. Due to KBTZ television station's operational department, engineering department, programming department, sales department, news department etc departments which every department individual staff, work group, division or overall KBTZ organization was not meeting its own expectations to adopt KBTZ new organization changes as well as television programming needed new productive tactics to change new strategies and processes often caused follow poor performing individual staffs, units and KBTZ whole organization, which might reduce aspiration levels instead of making changes sufficient to increase performance. Because KBTZ large television station often compared itself with othertelevision stations in the entertainment industry, when comparisons with similar others suggested that better performance was possible. However, KBTZ staffs could not adopt organizational change development suddenly, so it caused many different departments felt difficult co-operation together in KBTZ television station organization. In fact, American television station entertainment industry was encountered by life cycle forces, it meant the natural and predictable pressures that built as to KBTZ television station organization grew and that KBTZ television station must hope to continue growing.Hence, KBTZ television station was at elaboration stage, it meant KBTZ needed for balance, focused on efficiency and innovation, formal procedures existed and empowered low levelmanagers and associates in its organization if KBTZ still wanted to keep its large television station position in United States. However, KBTZ 's large television station's physical plant planned to accommodate the new advances equipment to provide different departments staffs to use and to boost its image as the leader in the United States entertainment market. It would cause its staffs feel difficult to adapt to adjust efficient and effective co-operation between departments due to it's planning change caused a process involving deliberate efforts to move KBTZ television station within its organization undesirable state to a new and more desirable state during KBTZ 's organization development was carrying on.
