She graduated from the University of Houston in 2001 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, magna cum laude. She then went on to graduate from the University of Houston Law Center in 2007 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Although diving into the corporate world after law school, she has always enjoyed expressing her creativity through writing.Emma and the Championship Game is inspired by her experience as the only girl playing for the Eagles while at Braeburn Little League in Houston. She played first base while batting in the cleanup spot during a time when girls playing for all-boys' baseball teams wasn't something seen every day. She enjoyed every minute of the fun and competition. Sports has always been a focus in her life, having competed in, not only baseball, but in softball, basketball, and tennis.
