Author Information

<p>Dave Lowe made his first solo at age sixteen in 1959, holds an Airline Transport Pilot license, several Certified Flight Instructor ratings, ground instructor ratings, and a low-altitude waiver for performing aerobatics at public air shows. He has been flying for more than fifty years and has extensive experience with manufacturing and repair of electronics and technical systems with the U.S. Air Force, Goddard Space Flight Center, and as a technical representative on four overseas assignments. The advancements described in this book are the result of this dual background in aviation and electronics by applying electronics troubleshooting logic to aviation procedures and streamlining solutions to orientation problems without magnetic heading information. Now that the safety advancements of this book have been distributed to the public, the author has been nominated for the 2011 Collier Trophy, the highest aviation award in America. Previous winners include Orville Wright, Charles Lindbergh, and Chuck Yeager.
