Author Information

Christopher Dow has practiced Tai Chi Chuan and chi kung since 1979, and his articles on the subjects have appeared in Tai Chi Magazine, Inside Kung Fu, and Yoga Journal. In addition, he has written for numerous local, regional, and national publications and written, produced, and directed a variety of video productions, including a historically signi cant documentary series on the rst annual national kung fu tournament in the United States: the U.S. National Chinese Martial Arts Competition (1986-1990). He is the author of several novels, collections of short ction and essays, and volumes of poetry. He served as editor of Rice Magazine, the magazine of Rice University (1994-2012). His other books on the subject of Tai Chi and chi kung are The Wellspring: An Inquiry into the Nature of Chi, Circling the Square: Observations on the Dynamics of Tai Chi Chuan, and Alchemy of Breath: An Introduction to Chi Kung.
