PETER W. BAKKEN is Coordinator of Outreach for the Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies, a Christian environmental education institution. JOAN GIBB ENGEL is a freelance editor and writer, combining work in the fields of environment, culture, and natural history. She and her husband, J. Ronald Engel, are the editors of Ethics of Environment and Development: Global Challenge and International Response (1990) RONALD ENGEL is Professor of Social Ethics, Meadville/Lombard Theological School, and Chair of the Ethics Working Group of the World Conservation Union. He is the author of Sacred Sands (1983) and has written extensively on eco-justice issues in professional journals.
