Matthew Cordell has illustrated many books for children including Special Delivery by Philip C. Stead, First Grade Dropout by Audrey Vernick as well as several he has written himself, like New York Times Notable Best Picture Book hello! hello!, Another Brother, and Wish, the companion to this book. He lives in the suburbs of Chicago with his wife, author Julie Halpern, and their two children.
