Overview

This book is a combination of Double Nunchaku Basics and Southern Shaolin Kung Fu Mok Gar style. Practitioners will learn basic blocks, pokes, outward strikes, inward strikes, downward strikes, upward strikes, upward swing around the neck, side swing around the waist, straight downward swing, straight upward swing, overhead strikes, and so forth. Southern Shaolin Kung Fu Mok Gar style is a very rare and unusual style due to its kicks and its movements. Even though I do not mention these in the lesson, there are several important details to remember about this style as you go along: the kick should be straight out, parallel with the ground; the distance the front foot moves forward equals the distance the back foot follows (same rule applies if the back foot moves backward); the farther the left/right foot crosses over the right/left foot, the better it is. Also, the right and the left shoulder should create a straight line. For example: when a practitioner crosses his or her left foot over the right foot, the front right shoulder and the left rear shoulder should create a straight line. When a practitioner crosses his or her right foot over the left foot, the front left shoulder and the right rear shoulder should create a straight line. By the way, that is the snake style movement I just described. To execute an effective snake movement, the practitioner must be quick, and the whole body should be flexible at all times.
