Overview

Does a tiger brush and floss? Does a wolf get his fangs cleaned? Who gets the most cavities, people or puppies? How animals and people use and maintain their teeth is explained in this Think About... title. Using comparisons between animals and people, the widely praised Think About . . . series helps children understand what makes humans human. Each includes a final spread with activities to reinforce the material. This title explores why animals in the wild don't go to dentists, and why it's important that humans do.

Author Information

Harriet Ziefert: Harriet Ziefert is the acclaimed author of over 300 books for children. Having earned a master's degree in education from New York University, and never having spotted one in all her years of dedicated professional tooth care, Ms. Ziefert knows that tigers do not go to the dentist. As an educator she was among the founding pioneers in the development and teaching of what today is known as the Common Core Curriculum. She is also the visionary founder of Blue Apple Books. Emily Bolam: Emily Bolam studied illustration at England's Brighton College of Art. Her first idea for a children's book began as a college project and was published upon her graduation. Since then, Emily has illustrated over a hundred books for children. In their 20-year collaboration, Emily has sometimes traveled to Blue Apple's New Jersey offices to partner-in-person with Harriet on dozens of entertaining and informative books for kids.
