Paul Rader's book Do Not Cast Me Away is a timely book about a chapter of family life that almost every family will face and certainly every church family. My wife and I went through that struggle with both of our mothers. It is a struggle that erases their memories and can trap their caregivers as well. Paul's word to the church is an invitation for the church to find room for people with Alzheimer's and their families. Room where we remember the sacrament of bread and wine and fellowship around table in all of our stages of life. Paul Rader is the pastor of Northside Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has served congregations in Kentucky and West Virginia, as well as in Tennessee, and was the Coordinator for Mission for the Coalition for Appalachian Ministry.
