Kamal Kishore, Member, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), India" Author Information"Dr. Mohan Kanda, a retired Indian Administrative Service officer of Andhra Pradesh Cadre has spent over four decades in public service and has served the State and the Central governments in several capacities in various important departments, including as Agriculture Secretary to the Government of India and Chief Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He holds a Doctorate in Cooperative Agricultural Credit. After retirement from the service, Dr. Kanda served as a Member of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Government of India, and as a Member of the Steering Committee of the Planning Commission for the formulation of the 12th Five Year Plan for ""Agriculture and Allied Sectors"". Currently, Dr. Kanda is an Adjunct Faculty at the Indo-German Centre for Sustainability, Department of Humanities and Social Studies, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai: Member of the Court, Central University, Rajasthan; and Member of the Board of Management of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Kanda has helped shape several national policies including the National Policy on Agriculture, the National Policy on Cooperatives and the National Policy on Rehabilitation and Resettlement of Project Affected Persons.
