OverviewDiode Lasers-An Innovative And Comprehensive Approach. Diode lasers are found in numerous applications in the optoelectronics industry, ranging from readout sources in compact disc players to transmitters for optical fiber communication systems. Diode Lasers and Photonic Integrated Circuits provides a comprehensive treatment of this technology, its principles and theory, treating students as well as experienced engineers to an in-depth exploration of this fast-growing field. Covering material for a two-semester course of graduate- or advanced senior-level study, this innovative book presents the engineering aspects first-introduces all elementary concepts, provides the necessary detail to accurately solve real problems-and then presents complex physical aspects only after a complete understanding of the operation of diode lasers has been achieved. Diode Lasers and Photonic Integrated Circuits includes: Over 270 illustrations Extensive appendices that provide both review and advanced material, as well as details of derivations Consistent notation throughout all chapters and appendices that allows for a self-contained treatment and varied levels of study A series of design examples of relatively complex photonic integrated circuits Example problems and a toolbox of techniques to apply to new advanced details as they arise Accurate and consistent calculations that illustrate analysis techniques, while agreeing with experimental data Complete coverage of matrix multiplication techniques which are more exact, general, and easier to comprehend for modern-day students Full Product DetailsAuthor: Larry A. CORZINE, PHD, is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His graduate work involved the theoretical and experimental investigation of vertical--cavity surface--emitting lasers, and he has authored many papers and articles in the field. He has also contributed a chapter to a book on quantum well lasers dealing with the theory of optical gain in semiconductors. He is currently employed at Hewlett--Packard Laboratories in Palo Alto, California. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
