Overview

When the teacher is absent some students are faced with a challenge. Should they use the day to take advantage, or should they enjoy the lessons of the substitute teacher? This story portrays the actions of three boys's shenanigans and after some careful thought what they have discovered. It begins with the boys being thrilled that their teacher is absent. Then it takes you through the silly and chaotic things they do, until they realize that there is fun and learning even when the teacher is absent.

Catherina Palumbo is an elementary school teacher, a writer and an actress who grew up in Brooklyn. While she started her acting, and modeling career early in life in New York City, writing and teaching have always been her passion. She pursued a career as an elementary school teacher in Staten Island New York and currently teaches third grade. Each day her students challenge her and inspire her to be the best teacher she can be. Their hopes, dreams, fears and ideals are the passion for her writing. In this way she can give back to them what they give her. Her stories are humorous tales which reflect some of the obstacles students and teachers encounter.
