Overview

"From Wil Michael Wrenn: ""It seems to me that we humans are in an almost constant state of longing - either a longing for someone or something that we don't have yet or that we at one time had but then later lost. In this book of poetry, I seek to address that aspect of our human condition - this longing, this 'desiderium' (Latin word)."" Wil Michael Wrenn explores desiderium in the sense of longing. Through his poetry collection, one can feel the deep desire for something once cherished. There is a deep desire in the heart for what it once had. Loss brings with it silence, regret, and pain. Wrenn explores this in his unique way, going deep into the subject. While exploring Desiderium, the reader feels compelled to examine their own loss. This deeply sensitive presentation invites the reader to reflect on their own loss."

Reviews

Wil Wrenn has a special spark to his writing that assuages the heart and soul of the reader. His writing is down to earth and yet ethereal and philosophical. His sense of family and nostalgia are evident with the turning of the pages. As the reader delves more and more into Wrenn's writing one can't help but see the depth of emotion and a similarity to the stylings of the late, great Rod McKuen. He writes with elegant ease and weaves his poetry with brilliant imagery and vibrant emotions laced with gentle feelings. I classify Wil Wrenn as an exemplary and talented poet who stands head and shoulders above the crowd.
