OverviewThe roots of Turkish modernisation and democratisation can be found in the late Ottoman reforms. European values lay down the core of modern Turkey since the establishment of the republic. This book focuses on the fundamental transformation of Turkish modernisation and democratisation. The contributors to this book focus on the main historical and sociological dynamics behind the decline of democratic standards. They also focus on the European Union (EU) membership process which has positive and negative effects on the shaping of the democratization, Europeanisation and de-Europeanisation processes. The book looks at this process from the perspectives of political science and international relations. It also focuses on the projection of the political struggles experienced in domestic politics. This book could be used as a reference book in postgraduate political science, international relations, public administration, and sociology education. It will also be of interest to those curious about the latest developments in Turkish political life. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Armağan Öztürk , H.
