Author Information

Joann Klusmeyer was born in the mountains of Arkansas during the height of the Great Depression into the family of a pioneer minister. She was attracted to pencils and paper from the time she learned not to poke pencils in her eyes, and that paper did not taste particularly good. Books became the avenue that would transport her into another life, and she read and re-read the few that were available until they were limp scraps. It was about then that stories began to develop within her own imagination, along with simple rhyming verses. Her father's occupation as a minister, by necessity, put her in church several times a week. There was the small country church that her father built and pastored, and in that way she met a lot of people on a regular basis and came to appreciate the hard-working settlers who pioneered the land in America's Midwest. Her stories reflect the lives and attitudes of those of her childhood that she remembers best welded together with a bit of imagination. Joann Klusmeyer is a prolific author with over 50 titles to her credit (and counting). Her family-friendly children's book series includes The Great I AM Bible Story Series, The Young Pioneers Adventure Series, The Wentworth Triplets Mystery Series, and Footsteps in the Canyon Adventure Series. Ms. Klusmeyer's historical fiction series for adults, set between the 1880s and the 1920s, includes The Burnt Tree Junction Series, The Ozark Mountain Series, Taming the Wilderness Series, Wisps of Time Chronology Series, and The Wishbone Hollow Trilogy.
