OverviewAn MMS workshop report on the deepwater GOM concluded that there was a need for additional information on the composition and structure of benthic communities, the associated biogeochemical processes, habitat heterogeneity and physiography, trophic interactions, and the biological health of the region (Carney 1998). The deep-sea is a setting within which benthic communities survive and propagate in the northern GOM. The deep-sea is characterized by total darkness, low temperature, nearly featureless mud, sparse food resources, predictable biomass patterns, unusual diversity patterns, and poorly defined couplings to topography, biogeochemistry, and currents Full Product DetailsAuthor: U S Deparment of the Interior MineralsPublisher: Createspace Independent Publishing Platform Imprint: Createspace Independent Publishing Platform Dimensions: Width: 21.60cm , Height: 0.90cm , Length: 27.90cm Weight: 0.381kg ISBN: 9781505526660ISBN 10: 1505526663 Pages: 158 Publication Date: 03 January 2015 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: In stock We have confirmation that this item is in stock with the supplier.
