Overview

With their sister's early death heavy on their conscience, a reclusive young researcher heads to a psychiatric hospital in the English countryside to study local faerie folklore--and learn more about these creatures their sister claimed to see. They're quickly caught up in the strange world of the hospital, and a specialist centre within it for the treatment of patients with multiple personalities, run by the enigmatic and Byronic Albe, a gifted psychiatrist with the uncanny ability to know what people are thinking. As the folklorist uncovers the truth of the hospital's unorthodox methods, they discover the place may have far more to do with the faeries than they first believed. There are more than stories to be found within its walls. Neil Rushton attained a PhD from the University of Cambridge (Archaeology/History) in 2003. He is now a freelance writer, who has published on a wide range of subjects from castle fortification to folklore. His first novel, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, was published in 2016.
