King examines cute in American culture-from baby animals to shiny objects and all manner of adorable things in between. The text is not only a list of what fits into this category, but also a well-researched look at what people find so appealing and why. While Kalis's blue-line drawings are adequate, photographs would have really upped the cuteness factor in the overall book design. Filled with fun facts and interesting tidbits, this is a title that tweens and teens are sure to flip through again and again. It's just the kind of book girlie-girls will flock to in their libraries and media centers.--Elaine Baran Black School Library Journal (03/01/2012)

Author Information

Bart King writes funny--and educational!--books for kids and immature adults. (His title The Big Book of Boy Stuff was once Amazon.com's top-selling children's book.) As a young lad, Bart discovered he could punch people into outer space. Sadly, he lost a lot of friends that way. Today, Bart is recognized as one of the world's leading superhero experts. (And as a longtime middle school teacher, he is also highly sought after by supervillains!)
