Kavita Das teaches nonfiction writing focused on social issues at The New School and Catapult. She has worked in the social-change sector for fifteen years, across the government, philanthropic, and nonprofit sectors, addressing issues ranging from community and housing inequities to public health disparities and racial injustice. She has written about social issues for ten years and is the author of Poignant Song: The Life and Music of Lakshmi Shankar. Lynnette R. Freeman is an actress and audiobook narrator best known for her roles in It Seems to Hang On, We Only Know So Much, and The Fits.
