Her work centers on the African American experience and is influenced by her studies at The African Poetry Theater and Stony Brook University, where she majored in Africana Studies. Shaun's early work was working with churches in Southeast Queens writing and producing Black History shows with the youth. Currently, she teaches poetry workshops, and she is a claims examiner by day. She is a wife and mother of four amazing and gifted children.
