This book provides a comprehensive analysis of the complexities of change and continuity in West Asia, its society, religion and politics. An overview of the region’s political, social and economic characteristics brought into sharper relief with the on-going turmoil in the region constitutes the introduction of the book. She received her MPhil and PhD degrees in West Asian Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Mujib Alam is Assistant Professor at the Academy of International Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
