The aim of this book is to encourage readers to practise patient consultations in preparation for the clinical skills assessment part of the nMRCGP exam. The practice cases are all based on typical cases presented in the CSA exam. Unlike in the companion volume Cases and Concepts for the new MRCGP , in this new book the reader is required to work out the necessary questions and practise a 'consultation'. The Cases and Concepts book familiarises candidates with the types of cases and depth of testing in the CSA, whereas Consultation Skills for the New MRCGP helps doctors to hone the skills necessary to pass the exam, by encouraging role-play and careful consideration of the approach needed with different types of patient.This work includes: 30 practice cases to help readers polish their consultation skills; free DVD showing 13 consultations and with detailed written commentary to highlight strengths and weaknesses of each video consultation; and, test your knowledge questions to assess your detailed understanding of key areas.
