Overview

""The Evil One Shall Not Live Again."" In 1907, famed Egyptologist Edward Ayrton discovered a tomb unlike any other in the Valley of the Kings. This tomb, KV55, had been ransacked in antiquity, and the few remaining items were desecrated in shocking ways. The face on the coffin was hacked off, names scratched out, the mummy itself broken and battered. Carved into the wall at the entrance of the tomb was this curse: ""The Evil One Shall Not Live Again."" Who was buried here, and what crimes did they commit to warrant such brutality after death? Famed Egyptologist and documentarian, Ramy Romany (Ancient Aliens, Destination Truth) unravels the mystery of KV55 and the enigmatic figure buried there. A fresh perspective on one of the greatest mysteries of the ancient world, Conspired tells a riveting tale of ancient Egypt at the height of its wealth, power, and glory, and how one person almost single-handedly destroyed an empire.

Author Information

Ramy Romany is a world-renowned Egyptologist. Born into a documentary-producing family in Cairo, Egypt, Romany had the unique opportunity to hone his skillset from an early age while taking part in multiple active excavations and discoveries in Egypt. This led him to pursue a degree in Ancient Egyptian History and Archaeology from the University of Cairo. Romany can both read and write in Hieroglyphs. Combining his passions of film and Egyptology, Romany was able to film, produce, direct, and be featured in over one hundred documentaries on Ancient Egypt for major international networks. An ""Expert on all things Egyptian,"" as Joanna Lumley calls Romany on national British Television, Romany took Ewan McGregor into the great pyramids of Giza on Long Way Down for National Geographic. He was also the Egyptologist for Ancient Aliens on the History Channel and part of the team that discovered an underground pyramid on the Discovery Channel's Curiosity: Egypt: What Lies Beneath. After many years of filming documentaries on Ancient Egypt, political circumstances led Romany to flee his home in Egypt and relocate to Los Angeles, CA. While Romany still resides in Los Angeles, CA with his wife and their three children, he continues to travel to locations across the globe filming, producing, and being featured in documentaries and TV shows and takes at least one trip back to Egypt every year. Emily Hache is a writer and story producer whose works include Saving History: The Tomb of Tutankhamen (for the Getty Conservation Institute), Rudy Ruettiger: The Walk On, The Soul of Success: The Jack Canfield Story, and Armonia: Poverty into Life. In 2016, she won a regional Emmy award for her work on the documentary, Return to Esperanza, about micro lending in the Dominican Republic. Previously she was a writer and development executive for the Walt Disney Company, DreamWorks SKG and Nickelodeon, where she developed the hit show The Fairly OddParents. She traveled North America for two years in a twenty-three-foot motor home while filming Found in America, an adventure series she produced with her husband, cinematographer Rob Hache. When she’s not adventuring in exotic places, you can find her in Los Angeles, California with her husband and son and their poorly-behaved dog, Bandit.
