Overview

A collection of short poems describing the oscillations of pain and joy in a young woman's life. While some of the poems describe fragments of her journey that taught her a profound anger, others shed a light onto the summer colors that blossom vibrantly in her heart.

Author Information

"Ignited by years of her scars and struggles, her pain was her biggest muse growing up. Having a conservative upbringing, a rebellious spirit began to bloom within her and music happened to be the only poetry that spoke to her. She found beauty in the abstract flows of words and colors. So art grew to become her best coping mechanism. She found it most comfortable to express herself through drawing and writing. Spent most of her days articulating the formulations of art behind closed doors. Emerging into her early twenties, she experienced a block. Not a single sketch nor a single word . Slowly losing the ability to grab a hold of the very nature of her craft. In the year 2020 the world had been facing a global pandemic causing everyone to be cautious and remain indoors in the safety of their own homes. This led to numerous people being crippled by emotional turbulence. However, by her luck, her most dearest and most loving cousins encouraged her to open a platform on Instagram. Creating a character as an escape to express herself without having to look over her shoulders. With the support of her loved ones, Although it is still a working progress, she continuously learns to trust her instincts. Lioness very much prefers and enjoys the anonymity. From the moment she published her first post, she began to flow like a river . Inspired by the zodiac sign ""Leo"", the name Lioness.on paper was born. Somewhere between thirteen or fourteen she began scribbling random flows of words intending for them to be poetry or lyrics."
