Author Information

<p>Dr. Dawn J. Bradford earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in psychology from Spelman College and her doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of Houston where she also studied children's literature. She served as an elementary school teacher, a middle school and high school teacher, an elementary school principle, and now is an adjunct professor of English and reading at the University of Houston-Downtown. She has conducted countless workshops on the topics of reading, writing, and literacy best practices for K-12 teachers. She is the president of her own organization, American Education Company, which offers education solutions to professionals, parents, and students. Shortly after receiving a BFA in illustration from The Art Institute of Boston, Holly Weinstein decided to leave the cold northeast and return to the warm city in which she grew up: Dallas, Texas. She happily spends her days illustrating. She is comfortable in all mediums, but specializes in acrylics. She enjoys painting children and animals in a whimsical style, well-suited for children.
