Coelurosauravidae was a family of avicephalans from the Permian and Triassic time periods. They lived in trees, and were typically two feet long. These reptiles glided from high places by using spines connected with skin membranes used as wings. Avicephala is a possibly polyphyletic and therefore disused clade of diapsid reptiles that lived during the Late Permian and Triassic periods. Many species had odd specialized grasping limbs and prehensile tails, adapted to arboreal (and possibly aquatic) lifestyles.
