OverviewThis title offers a unique insight into T'ai Chi as a philosophy, a discipline, a martial art and a source of spiritual and physical well-being. A series of essays by a T'ai Chi master who has practised the art for some 40 years and taught it to others, both to those in need of therapeutic help and to future trainers, for over 30 years. Through insightful essays on such topics as the Buddhist and Taoist 'roots' of T'ai Chi, on T'ai Chi as prayer, meditation, and martial practice, and on the essential need to combine physical with spiritual practice, Bunnag offers insight into the essence of this ancient and powerful art. Suitable for all ages and levels of attainment. This is an excellent complement to 'how to' books that reveals the spiritual dimension of this ancient art. The author is one of the world's leading proponents and practitioners. This is the first book devoted solely to revealing the essence of T'ai Chi.
