He stayed in Japan, living and working there for a decade before returning to Australia. Proficient in Japanese, he often acted as an interpreter for visiting students. His unexpected experiences lead to the publication of a number of books including The Art of Life and Death, Shadow Inspiration, Dancing Embers and Cloud Break. Influenced by the seemingly random nature of Japanese zuihitsu writing, Sleiman's works reflect his understanding of budo as an entirely natural phenomenon. Besides writing, his budo study also lead to interests in Noh theatre, Japanese aesthetics and, strangely enough, traditional sushi. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
